Middleborough Historical Museum will celebrate National Ice Cream Day by holding its annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 19 from 2-4 p.m. on the museum’s grounds at 18 Jackson St. in downtown Middleboro.
This family-friendly event features a performance of the “Toe Jam Puppet Band” at 3 p.m. The dynamic Toe Jammers perform hands-on children’s entertainment that grown-ups actually enjoy. This popular band has performed at festivals, libraries, and museums all over New England.
Scoops of rich and creamy versions of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream will be available. Towering sundaes may be topped with hot fudge, strawberries, jimmies, rainbow sprinkles and/or whipped cream.
Visitors may take part in pastimes from long ago like a game of croquet or graces, or they may lend a hand to crush ice for the hand-cranked ice cream maker. Others may choose to sit in the shade of the maple tree and listen to the victrola.
Tickets for this event are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12, and will be available at the door or in advance from the museum on Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m., or at Maria’s Gifts and Cards in downtown Middleboro. All proceeds benefit the educational activities of M.H.A.
All proceeds will benefit the Middleborough Historical Association, a not-for-profit educational organization which is dedicated to preserving the history of Middleboro.
