Tours of one of the oldest cemeteries in the area will be offered Sunday, with guides showing off a burial ground that dates back to the 1600s that is also a special, pristine spot. Volunteer Carol Damon said Sunday’s “Stroll thru History” at Nemasket Hill Cemetery at 515 Plymouth St. will give visitors a sense of “what Middleboro used to be, what it was like when the settlers came.” On Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m., tour guides will escort visitors through the rolling hills of the cemetery that is located on land that settlers purchased from the Indians and called Burial Hill, said Damon, who took on her new role after she retired as an elementary school teacher.
